Almost the entire history of the Finnish electronics industry can fit into a 25-year-long period. While many other companies have risen and fallen, Darekon has adapted, fought, and has correctly selected its strategic options for continual growth and development to become one of Finland's best in the field.
Darekon was established and started operations in 1985 in Haapavesi, Finland. Its own facilities were completed in 1986 with extensions in 1996 and 1999. Current production facilities span 3,500 m² with approximately 100 employees.
The Darekon Sp z o.o. subsidiary was founded in 1990 in Gdansk, Poland. Operations moved into our own 1,500 m² production facilities in 2003. Darekon-Electro Ky was established in 2006 with the purchase of the ET-Electro Oy business operations in 1986. Darekon-Electro operates in 1,400 m² production facilities in Savonranta.
Darekon purchased the Mecanova Klaukkalan factory operations in late 2009. Through this acquisition, Darekon gained sheet metal and final assembly know-how, which complements the group's overall service concept of being a contract manufacturer for medical equipment and industrial products. The factory's production facilities cover 4,500 m².
Careful monitoring of the development in manufacturing technology has been extremely important throughout Darekon's history. Since the start, investments have been made to ensure that the company always has the latest production technology. Also the strong utilization of information technology has been a cornerstone of our operations.
